Our history

Life moves fast – this realisation is not new. It is very important to us to use time wisely in order to create sustainable value in various forms.

How did this come about for us?

1992

After completing his training and working in all operational hotel areas, Alexander Ipp gains his first experience in international project management

1994

At the age of 26, he is the youngest hotel manager in Austria to open a four-star hotel for an international hotel group

1995/96

Through various hotel takeovers in Germany, he gains a lot of valuable experience in the field of business reorganisation

1997

In September, the Althof Consulting- und Hotelbetriebsgesm.b.H. is founded and the Hotel Althof Retz is taken over by Elisabeth and Alexander Ipp

1999

Integration of the Atlantis Hotel Vienna into the company group

2000

Winner of the Austrian Young Entrepreneur Award for Tourism, honoured by: Gewinn, T-Mobile, Bank Austria

2001

Introduction of TQM in the company
On 23 May there is a new addition to the company – Albert Daniel is born

2001/02

Expansion of the Hotel Althof Retz to 230 beds and construction of two car park decks, two seminar rooms and extension of the leisure area

2002

Winning the Austrian Youth Tourism Award by Daniela Haider (21 years young) as a quality officer in the company
Winning the JobOskar Integration Lower Austria, awarded by: Bundessozialamt, Caritas, WKO, ORF, AMS

2003

Development of the ErLebensWert vision statement by our management team
Hotel Althof Retz among the TOP 15 seminar hotels in Austria, awarded by: Reisemagazin

2005

On 16 February, there’s another addition to the young entrepreneurs – Bernhard Simon Egidius is born

2007

Expansion of the Atlantis Hotel Vienna by 25 rooms
Development of the arte Hotel Krems

2008

Extension of the Atlantis Hotel Vienna by 7 rooms
Opening of the arte Hotel Krems

2009

Winner of the MERKUR Award as Gradurate of the Year, honoured by: Vienna Business School & Fonds der Wiener Kaufmannschaft
Takeover of the Hotel Schwarz Alm Zwettl

2010

Winner of the Lower Austrian Tourism Award

2011

Development of the foundation brand IPP Hotels and the three product groups:

Art & Lifestyle
Smart & Budget

2012

Hotel Althof Retz in 2nd place among the top seminar hotels in Lower Austria
arte Hotel Krems is awarded “Best of Wachau” by: Land Niederösterreich and Destination Donau Niederösterreich
Expansion of Atlantis Hotel Vienna to 240 beds
Revision of the ErLebensWert vision statement

2015/16

Complete refurbishment of Hotel Schwarz Alm Zwettl and expansion to 48 rooms, extension of the AlmSPA with a pool house
